Well, that’s pretty much that. Another year in the bag. Another geriatric notch on my sword.

I’ll keep on going with the help of the two great axioms that sustain me in hard times:

• When one door closes, another slams in your face
• Cheer up – it could be worse. And it soon will be

    Without ever intending it, I posted this just a few weeks before the death of Tony Hart today.

    For anyone British, aged 35 to 45, this was sad news. The programmes he hosted on TV, and the tune on this video, bring back memories for us all. I’m glad to have it on the blog as a small, but genuine, tribute from me.
