Does size matter (er, in potatoes)?

Enormous Desiree potato

I found this enormous Desirée potato this morning. By mistake: left it in the ground when I was digging the row last week.

Question: How the bloody hell could I miss something this big?

Another question: Can you top it with something bigger?

Email me any pics of huge potatoes (or comically misshapen ones) and I’ll post up the entries for laughs.

WOW! Ours weren’t that great this year, blight, damn it to hell. We’ve lifted them all now and they’re all quite small but very tasty, very very tasty! Maggie (my dog) ate some rotten ones that were set aside, not just one so I guess at the time they tasted good, the vomit later was a bit unpsetting though, for all of us.

dammit! I’ve missed my chance to enter the photo contest – and no doubt lost out on a great prize..I had a perfect heart shaped maris piper – ate it.

Well, yes, zucchinis; but I didn’t miss them, I tried to ignore them. They’re the size of torpedos now. I may have to call the authorities.

No huge spuds, just lots of little ones which were full of slug damage. Oh well, there’s always next year.
