Carrots and Cat
The first carrots of the season. Took about 10 shots trying to keep the bloody cat out of the picture, but he would insist. So I gave up.
These are the Early Nantes I sowed back in March under plastic. I’d never tried this before, and it’s proven an outrageous success. A hassle, of course, but worth the aggro – fresh new carrots are SO sensational.

Great job on the carrots and potatoes, what a treat. Cats and pictures… it never seems to work very well.

One of my cats always wants to wander into my pictures too. I would try to say he’s curious, but in his case, it’s just that he’s an attention-junkie.

Oh, and the carrots look great! You sowed those in March and you’re harvesting such nice ones already? That is wonderful!

Nice cat!

He obviously wondered why you were taking pictures of carrots when you could be taking pictures of him! My carrots are only tiny at the moment.

I’m not sure it’s that the cat wants to be in the picture. My cats seem to think that every time I bend down to do anything in the garden, I’m doing it so I can pet them. Doesn’t matter if I am trying to weed, seed or, as in your case, admire some newly-harvested treat — there they are, butting their heads against my hand and standing RIGHT under my feet, completely in the way. Cute, but pesty.
Nice carrots, by the way. The only carrots I have come close to harvesting this year are hairy leftovers from last year’s bed that I am discovering as I dig in compost for this year’s crop. Dang.

My early Nantes didn’t germinate, curses! Growing them under plastic could be the answer … shall try that next year. Yours look extremely good, double curses!
